AI enhances creativity, but the human touch remains essential
AI is not here to take over human creativity, but rather to enhance it and Slatebox is a great example of this. Like so many other tasks, I’ve found that when it comes to crafting compelling presentations, AI is best seen as a collaborator rather than a replacement. Slatebox serves as an extension of human ingenuity, helping users get started. Slatebox-generated presentations get creative juices flowing, organize ideas, and visualize concepts but there will always be a human in the loop. That’s you!
Sharing compelling presentations is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
1 - AI as a starting point
Creating an impactful presentation requires more than just assembling slides—it demands storytelling, emotional engagement, and a deep understanding of the audience. I don’t know about you but I sometimes struggle with where to start when creating presentations. Once I’ve got a good start I tend to gain momentum and actually enjoy the process.
With Slatebox you prompt an initial presentation into existence with just a few words. The AI provides a great starting point, offering structure and key points in an appealing design with an engaging flow. This isn’t another boring slide deck!
Check it out!
What you’ll see is the whole slate, which is essentially a large canvas that holds all of the content. No more death by PowerPoint! You can move around the canvas and see what the AI has generated on the subject you chose and zoom out to see the entirety.
Here I like to run the presentation by hitting the present button.
The presentation will play, scrolling through various sections one by one each with a message box that serves kind of as a narrator.
2 - Your role as a human in the creative process
Each presentation needs a varying degree of detail to serve the specific objective that you have for it. Now that you have a start, you can focus on adding and refining.Slatebox makes it easy to refine and you can do so in two ways: additional prompting or manually.
- Continuing to collaborate with the AI
If you want to add more or less detail, or elaborate on an idea, I've found that continuing to collaborate with the AI by adding additional prompts can be useful. Just continue to use the chat box and describe the kinds of additional details you want. Below is the slide after I prompted the AI to change the language to Spanish.
Pro Tip - You can use a general prompt like “add more detail” or a more specific one tailored to the context like “make it funny.”
Here are some examples for further (or initial) prompting:
- Manually edit the slate
I sometimes do one or two more rounds of additional prompting, but I’ve found if I need to do more I’m generally looking for something specific and tend to just want to add it myself manually. You can edit all aspects of the slate yourself including changing the color scheme, adding content and moving around the objects. It can be pretty fun to play around with all of the elements. You can add your own background if you want, change the color scheme and so much more.
3 - Share your presentation!
There are a couple of ways you can share. If you want to just share the presentation click the present button.
You’ll need to publish it first and then the url will copy to your clipboard and you can send it along to anyone you like. Pretty cool. They will click on the link and they will be able to watch the presentation. They will be able to make their own presentations too.
If you want them to be able to access the slate itself you can share by pressing the share button.
You can adjust the settings for the slate to allow them to collaborate and edit the slate.
